Located within the highest mountain in Bulgaria and the Balkan Peninsula at an altitude from 2100 m to about 2500m above sea level, these glacial origin lakes are one of Bulgaria’s 100 national sites. During this hike, you will be able to enjoy the outstanding views of Lower lake (Dolno ezero), The Eye (the deepest high-altitude lake), The Tear (Salzata), The Kidney (Bubreka) etc. Please keep in mind that the walk to the viewpoints takes around 2 hours each way.
